migsy
I hope this never catches on here. What do they do with them when they grow up? link Edited October 29, 2012 by Guest
Jenthelibrarian
Although of course I agree that this is horrible... A friend of mine recently visited a charity hospital project in Sierrra Leone and was startled to see purple chicks running around with their mother hens. The staff had 'dyed' them with antiseptic spray in the hopes that the local hawk and owl population be confused into leaving at least some of them to grow up

HennyPenny59
If they are being sold as Easter Gifts when they still only have fluff, then im guessing that most of them will die, as they still need to be under a heat lamp ... Im thinking that the vast majority of people who receive them, will have no idea of this requirement ... Very sad
Redwing
These are normally hybrid male chicks that would normally be culled at hatch They are white/yellow so easy to dye poor things

migsy
Amazing how animals are treated with so little thought and respect in some societies.
