How about Nigella's Christmas puddini's (I think that's what she called them) basically mix up some christmas pud with booze, might have some chocolate in there aswell, shape into little truffle sized balls, drizzle over melted white chocolate and decorate with angelica and a little bit of glace cherry to make it look like a mini christmas pud.

I'm sure the recipe will come up with a bit of help from Google, or I've got it somewhere. They are quick and easy to do.

I have two particular favourites. One is Janssons frestelse (Jansson's Temptation) from Sweden, and the other is a tourtiere from Canada. Both go down very well, and both are portable.

Recipe for Janssons frestelse

Recipe for tourtiere (although if you can find rose veal, I'd suggest substituting for half the pork; it gives a slightly more rounded flavour, but avoids the usual ethical dilemmas associated with veal).

Thank you. In the end, I made a Festive pastry wreath / ring. I filled it with a homemade creme pattissiere, mincemeat, nuts & apple. To finish it off, I put a snowflake candle holder in the middle of the wreath, with a tea light in. It went down a treat & I was quite pleased. :D

I want to make a gingerbread house / building for Xmas..any tips?

how about pannetone, certosino ( a spicy italian fruit cake), stollen, Gallette de Rois oops they are all sweet stuff.

Gingerbread house - the likes of Lidl & Aldis sometimes have them this time of year. I have seen a gingerbread house cutter set in Wilkinsons for £4 or Lakeland for £4.99. Recipes are on the BBC food website etc.
