hopingforchickens
So the story so far... I inherited 2 bantams off a friend at the beginning of Sept, they've been in a small run within the WIR since then and intros have not been going well to say the least, a week ago the big girls broke into the little run whilst I was out for the day but to my amazement everyone seemed fine - helped I'm sure by the fact that Mrs Pompom was broody at the time. So I decided to leave the doors open but the run intact to keep 'their space' if you see what I mean. Today I've been out to do the weekly clean and decided to take Mrs P's nest box away as Fran has finally started laying and I found an egg on the floor as she couldn't squeeze past her! Mrs P had a good scrat about and I brought the big girls back in with PLENTY of corn. I then spent the next 2 hours outside watching what happened. I'm pleased to say it wasn't too bad. Fran is fine now and they pretty much ignore her, Tallulah (the bottom of the pecking order from the original 3) has always had it in for Mrs P and has had a couple of goes at her, but my brave little silkie isn't about to let an upstart hybrid bully her. It was quite funny to see them strategically move around the perches and mezzanine to see who could be higher the best part was that the other 2 just ignored her. I'm so happy, I'm sure there will be a few more scuffles along the way, but it is a really big step forward. I honestly thought I would never be able to put them all together a fortnight ago. So thank you all you lovely Omleteers for your invaluable advice and support.

hopingforchickens
I'm so relieved that it all seems to be going well, I went out to take some pics Hayleybug, decided to stand inside the run to get some good shots, but the big girls all came and stood round my ankles! So I took a couple of the little ones and thought, 'what's the point, these are supposed to be integration shots!' and gave up! Much to my horror, I've only had 1 egg today, have forgiven them in light of recent events though
