Help please! I have googled until my eyes are crossed and read through so many threads re purchasing walk in runs. I have an idea of where to avoid, but would like an idea of where the best WIRs have been purchased from if you are able to assist please?

I am looking for a 6 x 6 x 6 run, where I can place an Eglu Classic on a table and that is about all I know at present, other than realising that the glug and grub won't fit on the mesh

Hi, I bought one of my WIR's from Aviaires 4 you and it is really good quality (in my opinion) Its sturdy and has a corrugated plastic roof and a special door and ramp for my eglu classic and I also purchased a table for the classic from them too. They were a pleasure to deal with and made the WIR really quickly and assembled on site although I think you can assemble yourself too if you want. I wish I had bought my first walk in run from them as my other one is not nearly as sturdy or well made as the Aviaries 4 U one. I hope this helps you :D

Thank you so much. I have e-mailed them for a quote. I had read of a firm people had had a nightmare with and thought, if I could speak to someone who had received good service and good products from a particular firm - that would be invaluable. Many thanks.

I can vouch for Aviaries4U. I purchased mine in February 2009, it's still going strong today. I bought mine in kit form and constructed it myself. It's 15ft x 6ft x 6ft.

You can View details of the run here, construction and accessories here or see the whole build process as a slideshow here

Regards

Andrew

Wow that run really is a beauty! Thank you for your recommendations however, Aviaries 4 u have been in touch and unfortunately, do not deliver to my area. They have had problems with the courier that used to assist them and so now no longer cover the West Midlands which us such a shame.

However, I have managed to order a run from The Cotswold Wood Company. I ordered at 10.00 pm on Sunday, paid via Paypal and it is being delivered today at 3.00 pm! They have been very helpful and hopefully everything will arrive as it should. The prices are also really good and you can choose from drop down arrows on their order page/website, as to size of mesh, kickboards etc.

Fingers crossed!

Had a check on what has been delivered and it looks great. The delivery man was very helpful and managed to weave through the myriad of entries that run behind the houses and kept smiling! He has placed it carefully ready for us to put together ourselves and the screws, nuts and bolts are fastened in a plastic bag to the mesh so they don't get lost. Really pleased with it, nice quality from what I can see so far.

I tried to phone several times but only got an answering machine. When I did leave a message in the end, they phoned back shortly afterwards and were very helpful. Can't fault them. Their website shows the designs they have available and all the varying sizes.

However, they did advise that they aren't taking any further orders now until 3 January, as they close from 14 December until 3 January for Christmas holidays. Wish our office did the same!

Hi goodegg. I don't have pics at the moment unfortunately, however, if you go to the Cotswold Wood Company website, you will see the Buckland 6x6x6 and that is the one I have, albeit I have started to paint it with cuprinol, but half way through due to the rain

It took two of us to assemble and took around 2 hours, but was straightforward. The company supplies a little bag with all the screws and the appropriate drill bit.

A case of putting two sides together, drilling the wood - which is easy as it is soft - and then screwing the panels together. Once you have the four sides ie 2 panels per side, ready and done, just a case of screwing these together to form the final shape. I added my own mesh flooring and opted for the version with just the mesh roof, as it was then cheaper for me to buy the plastic corrugated roofing and attach it on a slight slope.

Hopefully when the rain stops (if the rain stops) I will get some pics sorted.

hl050 I am so sorry about your problems with the pen - that must be infuriating :x I do hope you get it sorted soon.
