Micro Sim cards?

Recommended Posts

I have just bought my OH a Nokia Lumia 800 from Phones 4 U and looked at it when I got home yesterday and it takes a micro sim rather than the standard size. I am wondering how I go about getting one. It is a little complicated, i bought the phone as an upgrade on my Pay as you go, he is on a contract paid for by his work and he upgraded a couple of months back but gave the phone to ED who needed a decent phone to take to uni, hers was on it's last legs. I am annoyed that the girl who sold me the phone didn't mention that it needed a micro sim it is just as well that I looked at the set up instructions when I got home. if I go back to Phones 4 U but they would expect to give me a micro sim version of mine even if they can do that?

Can you have more than one sim with the same number? I suspect not because of cloning issues etc. I know that ED had trouble with her new phone when she put her very old sim into it and she got a new sim through a vodaphone shop. Beyond that I am lost?

Thankyou to anyone who has looked at this, but hopefully I have managed to sort it by logging into his account and requesting a new sim. ( we are very open with each other about passwords etc fortunately) I will have to get him to activate it before Christmas or swap the sim into his old phone whilst he is not looking provided that it comes with a holder that will fit his old phone, but i will cross that bridge when it arrives. I am hoping that it will be a normal sim with a micro popout which he can pop out on Christmas day and wonder how it got there.

When I bought my iPhone I just took my old sim into Carphone Warehouse (didn't but it from them) and they cut it down for me.

All phone shops (should) have a cutter a bit like a hole punch they can just pop the sim into and cut it down, takes 2 seconds :)
