Well following on from my sewing machine thread, Santa came up trumps and delivered the sewing machine complete with quilting kit, 50 reels of thread and a scissor pack ! I am very lucky and can't wait to try it out. The threads are enough to last a lifetime!

 

I would like to learn to quilt/ do patchwork and I am a complete novice. I don't really have time to attend a course so am going to have to learn from a book/internet.

 

Can anyone recommend quilting and/or patchwork books for complete beginners please or any good blogs /websites with easy to follow tutorials?

There are some fabulous online courses on Crafsty. I've bought a couple of Crochet ones and they are excellent. They have special offers every so often, so it is worth waiting for these.

I have done a couple of quilts in this series and they have come out well. Another one to consider is the Karin Hellaby series of books, they are called Sew Simple I think.

I started quilting in 2011 and learned all my quilting knowledge from YouTube. Check out Missouri Star Company. I have found them to be very clear and inspirational for starting off. Do enjoy! I have loved making the children their own Christmas quilts and one for me too!
