New hens not going into Eglu Go Up

I know it is a very elementary question, but 4 or 5 of my hens are perching or lying down in the nestboxes at night creating a dungpile in every single one, causing dirty eggs.

 

I have tried manually moving them out of the boxes and onto the roost, but they just jump back in to the nest box. Even if I persevere it is to no avail.

 

Will I have to block off the nestboxes at night or does anybody have any ideas?

Half of my ex batts roost and other half sleep in boxes I just let them get on with it and give eggs a dry wipe.

Hi there! I always block off my nestbox at night. You don't say what type of coop you have, but I have a cube and the smallest size trug fits perfectly!!! Just block it up at bedtime and open it up when I let them out in the morning!
