Hayleybug
very odd, came home today from having a pub lunch with some friends and at the front outhouse door was a large rabbit (dead). Having a closer look it had it's head hanging off and insides were escaping- it looked like it had been carried by something as it's fur was a bit damp and matted as if it had been in a dribbly jaw. As it was a large rabbit im thinking this must be the work of a fox?? the door in question is set back from the front wall of the house and my car is parked in front of it, can only imagine that whoever brought it along was disturbed when we went out at 9am and we didnt see anything as used OH's car. certainly wasnt there on friday when i got back from work, but it wasnt frozen as shoveling it up was a bit of a palaver (squishy). sorry for the graphic descriptions but just wondering whether this is a typical wound inflicted and typical behaviour of a fox as didnt spot the culprit and worried now if there is a fox in the immediate vicinity (only 10 houses here so chooks may be a major target). either that or the neighbours dont like us

Hayleybug
Wow really?? That's pretty impressive for a cat, tho my cat is tiny and doesn't go any firther than mice or small birds. Suppose that is fairly comforting as I feel more able to scare off a cat than a fox!
