Wanted - Eglu Cube Mk1 Roosting Bars

Hi everyone,

 

3 of my 5 pekins have recently come in to lay, but I keep finding that one of them (not sure who!) is laying in the run, rather than in the next box.

 

They all share an eglu go, with an extended run.

 

Could a hen be preventing the other from sharing the nest box? If so, any suggestions?

If they have only recently started laying the egg may be taking her by surprise still. Or someone may already be in the nest. You could try putting some fake eggs in the nestbox in case she isn't sure where to lay.

I'm with purplemaniacs on that - when a hen wants to lay on the nest, she'll do anything to get there - pecking order or not!
