Unsecure chicken perches

Hi i am new to this forum and new to keeping chickens...

 

I am now a proud owner of 5 little 4 week old pekin bantams... And thought id ask if anyone can help with sexing them...

When i bought them i was told there are 4 girls and 1 boy which i would be very happy with but thought id ask others if you thought the same

So here it goes....

 

Chick 1 Girl?

 

Chick 2 Girl?

 

Chick 3 Girl?

 

Chick 4 Boy?

 

Chick 5 Girl?

 

Hoping ive posting these pictures right... this is the first time ive tryed!!

 

Any Advice or tips will be very much appreciated Thanx xxx

You seem to be missing the end code for the img should have [img*] at start and [/img*] at end only without the stars.

Nope, no end code and star in the beginning code now. Try using the button at the top of the posting box and pasting the BB code in between the code bits - make sure it is bb code as well....

Just spotted how new you are (I know you said) think you need a certain number of posts to be able to add pics

O ok lol... I was doing it from Photobox going to my photo then Share - Links - IMG Codes

 

O well i cant do it then do you know if i can put links up to the pics?

Ha ha, no problem! I think you might be able to do URL links and I don't think it's long til you can post pictures proper. I just wanted to see the chicks!

Don't have any clue as to sex but realised I could cheekily repost and the pics show!! Hope you don't mind. Hopefully someone will be along who can tell girls and boys. They are lovely looking chicks!

Thank you Redwing and Miller30 - We were told pic 3 (not including the one u cant see) was the boy... but we will be very happy if he is a girl

Its the one most likely to be a boy, it has a lot less feathers than the others which would indicate a boy but its comb looks girly. Pekin boys are usually very easy to spot by this point

Keep an eye on the first one but i still say girls i breed pekin bantams i sex mine between 3-6 weeks and they get sold as sexed pullets at 8 weeks i have never made a mistake yet with any of mine providing they have the age of yours correct leanne

Thank you Miller30, I do not mind either way... would quite like a boy with the girl!!

 

I was told when i bought that he was a day or 2 younger and that y his feathers hadnt come though... They are now 5 week ( if like you said the dating is right) xx

I hatched pekins last year and had 4 boys and 3 girls!!! The boys tend to feather up slower, so I'd watch the one in the 1st pic, the others all look like girlies! Boys develop their "head gear" quickly and redden up too. By 8/9 weeks mine were trying to crow!!!
