Sheepskin alterations - suggestions and recommendations

Recommended Posts

I have been lucky enough to be given a gorgeous vintage sheepskin waistcoat, it is in really good condition and in a man's style rather than looking like a woman's garment, although the buttons are positioned for female use. It is too big though.... not just a teensy bit, but by quite a lot - I am a size 10 and it would probably fit a size 14 at a guess.

I had thought about altering it myself, but it has binding around the armholes and along the bottom which make that more complicated and time consuming. I am in North Oxfordshire, but would be happy to send it off for altering if necessary; can anyone make recommendations?

 great minds.... I was just coming on here to post that after much searching and many phone calls, Wilton Sheepskins seem to offer a very good and reasonably priced service. My waistcoat is on its way to them as we speak and I will report back on the results, he is even going to clean it for a small charge 8)
