Broody...?

Recommended Posts

I came home tonight to find Dorothy in the nest box and she didn't come running out for corn. Opened the port to check her and when I tried to stroke her she pecked me. She was sat on two toasty eggs - one hers one Buffy. I tried to shift her but she didn't move so then lifted her out and put her on grass. I was pretty sure she was broody but then she kept puffing her feathers out and shaking herself and was being a bit off and I'm worried she wasn't feeling well and I've been a bad chicken mummy.

She totally sounds broody to me too!!! But watch her as it can cause trouble with the others and also if she isn't eating etc it's not good for her. You may need to try and brak her broodiness as it can go on for weeks at a time!!!! I use an anti-broody coop within the cube's run.
