nanarock Posted April 21, 2013 Share Posted April 21, 2013 My friend contacted me to say a fox managed to kill all 6 of her chickens by ripping out the poo trays on her locked up eglu cube. Somehow it managed to kill and take 2 chickens and leave the remaining 4. This is the 3rd time this fox has killed her chickens and she has replaced them, but the 1st time it has broken into the cube. One clever fox. Daphne Posted April 22, 2013 Share Posted April 22, 2013 Very sorry to hear of both your losses I think they are very active right now, I managed to rescue one of my girls from the mouth of a particularly glossy and well fed fox a couple of weeks ago. chri1143 Posted April 24, 2013 Share Posted April 24, 2013 I don't trust the trays of the cube so have placed a heavy feed bin behind the cube to block the trays coming out. If they are in place it is difficult for me to pull them out without releasing them underneath, and I don't think a fox would be able to do it.
