counturchickens
We have a patch of land at the rear of the garden which is grass and brambles. The owner of the land is happy for us to use it and we've been considering geese or goats. I've read up and 20ft by 40ft of grass is ok for a trio of geese, and there is at least double that of grass (more than that with trees and brambles). We have a 7x5 garden shed for the house, but we need to think about fencing. We've never seen a fox, however we're not complacent. Current thoughts are, electric fencing for the whole lot, but would it be practical to let them free range during the day, and just lock them up at night. We live in a semi rural area, but normally one night a month or so we are away overnight, so could we leave them in a wir for occasional 24 hour periods (as we do with the hens and ducks). Any advice or opinions gratefully received.
