Cate in NZ
Last night daughter put on an old CD whilst we were busy baking up a storm together. Suddenly Spirit in the Sky came on, and I love that old track, next thing the 2 of us were prancing around the kitchen, dancing like 3 year olds and lip-synching into our whisk "mikes" . We followed that up with the very childish trick of fighting over who was going to lick out the bowls She's got an excuse- she's 12 , but I did catch myself thinking "and I think I'm a grown-up" I also love stamping in new, fresh snow, and walking through woods in Autumn, kicking the piles of fallen leaves. I'm really not convinced that I've quite grown up yet Grd made a comment too about having a childish sense of humour . Is it that I'm not the only one who still enjoys being very childish at times, despite the advancing years?
Mrs Frugal
Not at all Kate. LSH and I are leaf kickers and I'm a bowl licker outer and will fight for it too! You're never too old for a silly moment - ask my Dad!!
The Dogmother
Me tooo, we'll have to have a day of acting juvenile together! R has this habit of showing me what she's got in her mouth, so when she asked me what I was eating last night, I showed her! 'Mummy, that is sooo gross ' Pot calling the kettle beige, me thinks! Mrs Frugal
We also like water pistol fights - hiding then leaping out at the boys and soaking them!! Great fun, especially out of upstairs windows! - not the leaping out thing - you know what I mean !
The Dogmother
Brilliant! The dog used to love that too, any jets of water really; she used to like chasing the hosepipe.
Lesley
I stopped kicking leaves after the boy next door kicked a hidden pile of dog poo! I always want to kick leaves but can't bring myself to Hose pipe water fights here though - in the summer!
Guest
Grd made a comment too about having a childish sense of humour . Yes, thanks for reminding me Kate A! We can regularly be seen dancing round the kitchen to Amarillo and Chirpy Chirpy Cheap Cheap. And now that you mentioned Spirit In The Sky, I just know I'm going to be humming it all day. Also my kids expect me to wear ridiculous things on my head, including, yes, pants.
