craftyhunnypie
Is this true? My sister said the other day ' Have you ever watched Jimmy's Farm'? I told her no, but people on the Omlet forum mention it. She said ' Oh it's great, he keeps his chickens in a caravan'!!!! I just have visions of chickens getting cozy in an old 2 berth. But is this really true? And how has he converted it inside? Has anyone got any pictures of this or know of any links for me to look at? Thanks Emma.x

The Dogmother
He had it as temporary accommodation when he first got the rescue hens from the BHWT. Buffie knows Jimmy better than I do - I'll steer her over here. She will know more about what he's done.
buffie
He's got old static vans Emma, thanks Clare for getting me He ripped them out and Dolly fitted them out with nest boxes. There was a pic in P P some time ago I think. Anyway you don't get to see them when you visit and I might just ask Dolly this next visit. They don't have many rescue girls now sadly..mr fox came to visit regularly! If they repeat it you'll see, maybe in his book BBx
craftyhunnypie
Thanks Buffie - it really fascinated me! What a good idea really tho! My sister is getting chickens soon & does have eggs in the incubator ( taking a chance on 3 bought from a free range place. Originally bought for the eggs to eat, but there were lots of cockerels amongst the flock - so she put 3 in the incubator to try. She will candle them tomorrow ( after a week). If nothing, she will leave them another week. If nothing then, then they will be thrown away. It's worth a try - look at Martin & his quail eggs! She is desperate to get a hen house ( wooden, she doesn't do eglu's being a farmer's wife) But she's short of money at the moment as recently got married and just back from Honeymoon - so she can't afford much. She's got an old shed, but to me it's really flimsy! So we keep looking out for a coop for her - they are so expensive! Makes me realise what good value Eglu's & cubes are! There was one in our buy & sell last week, but it had sold quickly. Nevermind - god knows what she will make of my cube when it comes! Maybe she needs a caravan to convert???
