Solitary chicken - need advice

Having let the girls work their magic on my weed overrun garden, I'm planning on moving the cube on to the slabs in the corner and putting easichick down. Can someone please tell me how much I need to give them a decent run? It's a standard cube run with a 1m extension.

I haven't used easichick, but I have used easibed, bedmax, rapport and hemcore. I don't know how the bale sizes compare.

My Cube has a 3m run too. It depends on how deep you want the bedding, but I don't think I ever used a whole bale in one go and I generally go for a few inches deep of bedding.

I bought one bag of easichick a while back but it didn't even cover the whole floor.... I guess I bought the wrong size bag then!!!

 

The ones I've seen are £5.75 on the gjwtitmuss website - are there bigger packs I've not seen?

I might be mis-remembering? I took up the slabs a few months ago and just have them on green wood chip from the tree surgeon on bare earth, for the summer.

Oooh no - I hope you're right. It would be much cheaper than I expected

 

I guess I should try to get woodchip instead of easichick but I want to see how this works when there's enough in. I guess I'm going to need to get some log roll cable tied around the edge of the run just to stop them kicking it all out though

Just looked it up - I think easichick is a 10kg bale whilst easibed is 20kg.

You'll be buying easichick forever - try the easibed, I couldn't notice a difference! Bought mine from a local stable suppliers on 3 for 2... Think I was quite generous to mine and made it quite deep - if you have storage buy a bit more than you think and store it if no storage but less and you can top up... There's a guide on the website as to how much to use.
