nin-chicken
I've just got my WIR set up but it's got quite a high kick board around the bottom so the glug and grub will be quite high up! Does anyone know how high off the ground they are meant to be? I'm getting my chickens on Saturday! Thanks
Patricia W
The opening for food should be at about the height of the chicken's back. You don't want them straining up to eat. The water needs to be quite low down. You can buy free standing stands for WIR which have deep kick boards.
nin-chicken
Thanks for the quick reply. On the website I could see stands for regular grub and glugs but will the super glug fit on there or do I need to buy a regular glug so that it will fit? Thanks again x
Patricia W
I abandoned the superglug after a few weeks so now use the ordinary glug and another gravity water container so I'm not the person to ask. If you can't get a stand, try another type of water container
good_egg
I think the super glug just about works - have put it out on stand in garden.... I too have abandoned it as it takes loads of water and I don't think they can reach the bottom. I decided too wasteful when adding tonics etc...
