Chicken bald back

My girls have always come running for the mealworms at the mere rustle of the packet and can always be tricked into the run when free ranging with no problems. However, the past couple of weeks they haven't taken the slightest bit of notice when I appear at the door with the bag. It's become a bit of a nightmare to get them back into the run. Anyone tell me why?

stubborn chicken syndrome I've got 4 that have court it again now they have finished moulting I end up leaving them out until it gets dark it's the only way I can deal with them as the gardens far to muddy for me to chase them around it plus the little madams now my limitations to the millimetre

It's the time of year - they go a bit off-plot when they are moulting. Keep with the training and they will get the idea; ONLY treat them when they are in the run.

Thank you Dogmother, they certainly are grumpy at the moment with moulting. I caught my most placid, friendly girl pecking at my other one just because she had all the mealworms and that's so unlike her!
