staceychristie
Poor Vera ( 3yr old ex-batt rescue, wormed in October, poop normal) has a progressively hardening bum. She's eating, drinking and pooping just fine. She's still the boss, and apart from feeling her, she looks great (just finishing the moult, so fluffy bum) Been to the hen expert vet for inspection, and Ultrasound scan!!!! . He thought it might be a stuck egg, but she's not laid since July, and even then was very small egg with no yolk. Think it might be tumor but don't want her to suffer with surgery. Anyone else had experience with this? Hugs, Stacey X
Plum
I had a chicken with a tumour in her abdomen. Because she was unwell with it we said goodbye. Play it by ear and if she's ok carry on. The vet did give me options of surgery but I chose not to go down that route with her.
Egluntyne
If she is three years old, her life expectancy is very limited anyway. I'd venture to suggest that surgery would not be a sensible option.
