bluekarin
I was on my way back from visiting my brother in London for the day when he texted me the sad news of his passing. Such a fine actor and such a waste of life at such a young age. RIP Mr Hoffman.

Cinnamon
I really liked him, but had no idea he played my favourite character in one of my favourite films (Twister), until his death yesterday! I guess that goes to show what a great actor he was. Sadly missed, & gone from drug misuse too, which is a horrible waste of a life,a talent & a father. Princess Leia
It was sad to hear, he's one of OH's favourite actors. Strange that this was all over the news - Maximilian Schell died the day before and hardly got a mention.
Cinnamon
I think that Jim Carrey got it just right in his tribute to him: "Dear Philip, a beautiful beautiful soul. For the most sensitive among us the noise can be too much. Bless your heart.”
