Not laying and hunched appearance

Recommended Posts

I'm worried about our Vera, who is normally such a dynamo of a chicken, always on the go and into everything. She stopped laying a few days ago and I keep finding her standing still, all hunched up. She'll then perk up and be OK again for a while.

Her tummy is fine - not swollen and she's not waddling like a duck, her comb is red and she's eating, drinking, talking, and pooing is all normal. She just keeps standing hunched up looking really miserable. :?

Hilda is also out of sorts. She had a heavy moult in the Autumn and is now losing feathers again. Is this normal? I've checked her for everything and there's no outward appearance of anything else going on.

I did worm them all last week after losing little Olive to gapeworm. Could I have overdosed them with Flubenvet by accident?

I feel like such a chicken hypochondriac a the moment, I'm super sensitive to any little thing, always get like this when I've lost one of my girls :( But I'm sure something is not quite right with the two of them :?

They're both 2 years old with no cold like symptoms at all. We only treated Olive with Panacur for the gapeworm, but I have just dosed them all with flubenvet just to be on the safe side.

I took Hilda to the vet last week but he said she seemed fine. I think I will end up taking Vera this week as well as something clearly isn't right with the hunched appearance.

Both still eating and drinking and talking but we all know how that can turn on a sixpence :(

Oh the worry!!
