Claireabella
Hi everyone, I've noticed Poppy has very red eyes and her face and comb are redder than I've ever seen them before. It's worrying me that there might be something wrong. She is eating, drinking and scratching around as normal and has been laying all winter apart from the odd day here and there. They are on lock-down at the moment apart from an hour or so in the afternoon because I started worming them yesterday, so they are not happy about that. It doesn't explain the red eyes/ face though. Here are a couple of photos I managed to get and this is what her eyes usually look like Can anyone help? I've tried searching the internet but I've come up with nothing!! mollyripkim
Not sure if its any help but my little pekin has just come back into lay and her comb etc are also very bright red. Hopefully someone with more experience will be along.
Luvachicken
Her actual eye looks healthy to me. I would agree with mollyripkin, that it looks like she is getting redder because she will start laying soon. I'm sure that's all it is, but someone else will say if it's not. Claireabella
Thanks for your replies. She has been laying all winter. It is the red ring in her eye (around her pupil) I was worried about the most because it's usually yellow. Having said that, her eyes are not swollen and no horrible stuff in them so perhaps I'm just overreacting Goodness, I do worry...
