Ain't Nobody Here

A handy tip for Virgin Media customers

Recommended Posts

Maybe this is common knowledge, but I have just discovered this tip which is great if you have kids away from home, say at uni who don't have a tv or can't afford a Virgin package.

You can allow someone else to log into your Virginmedia account using their pc/laptop/etc and they can watch Virgin TV Anywhere, which includes live TV and On Demand. Only 2 people can use it at a time but as our kids will be studying most of the time, I'm sure that won't be an issue  .

I've set it up for ES and it seems to work pretty well so far. There can be an issue if you use Chrome as your browser but there's an easy fix.

If you use any device (tv, computer, games console etc) to watch television, as it is being broadcast, then you need a TV Licence. The only exception to this is if you are a student living away from home and you watch tv on a device that isn't connected to the mains or an aerial and if your parents home is covered by a tv licence.

Indeed - as I said, they still have the TV licence people hounding them with letters.

Apparently they are coming to visit & search the house, which all of them are really looking forward to, as it will mean that they have proof that they are not in breach of the laws, at last

I had the TV licence people hounding me as well, threatening letters, say I could face fines of up to £1000 etc. I gladly invited them round. At the time the letters were sent, my house was being completely renovated, you couldn't live in it, let alone watch TV! Funnily enough, the letters stopped.

I just get a letter every year asking me to fill out this form
