Afternoon,

First time poster. We recently bought two wyandotte bantams for our eglu go (pic: https://www.flickr.com/photos/heartbeeps/13971629226/).

I'm going to create a raised bed using railway sleepers, use sand as a base in the run, and plant grass/plants around the outside of the run. What plants would you recommend? I read somewhere about lavender being good for keeping flies at bay? I'm looking for plants which:

- chickens don't like eating

- smell nice

- offer a little natural shade

Thanks, and hello!

Wow, love the colouring of them. I've got a silver pencilled one, dolly who has the sweetest nature. I can recommend choisya (Mexican orange plant), they are evergreen and have a lovely scent and lots of white flowers. Chickens don't go seem to have a taste for them, yay. I'm very jealous of your lovely green grass
