Hi,my Pekin bantam was sitting on eggs for a week now and yesterday morning went to check her and she was not on the eggs,they were very cold,I think she is not well,very pale on the face and comb,anyway got another broody that's now doing the job,can anyone tell me if this is a waste of time as the eggs were cold if there was anything in them will they be dead?

Hi I would candle them as if they were fertile and not long in depending on how long they have been left could have red ring of death and you don't want your other girl to sit for nothing leanne

I've had hens go off eggs for 24 hours and the eggs have still hatched

 

Leave it a couple of days then candle the eggs, this will give you a better chance of seeing what is what as chilled eggs aren't as active when you candle them
