bluekarin
Well, as the title suggests, I am after somewhere I can find out the manifestos and views of the main political parties, without all the media hype etc. I want to be able to make an informed vote next year. In previous elections I have gone by gut instinct but this doesn't seem to be working this time round. I am reading so much anti certain parties on places like Facebook, especially by friends, but I can't find the info to back up their claims. I am not very good with political arguments, so don't want to enter into debates with them. I am not asking you to give your political opinion on here as that could get into all sorts of rows. Just somewhere I can read the facts. Thank you
patsylabrador
British politics I was looking for a very good site that I used to read but it's disappeared. This isn't quite right but very useful and the rest of the website is amazing. I've bookmarked it for myself. LBC have a rundown of all the parties but it's too brief for what you want. I'll have another look for that site because it was perfect. I can't remember it's title.
Beantree
Trouble is Bluekarin, even if you did manage to find such information how would you know if the policies were realistic and workable? And then there is the problem of the party changing the policies mid-term. In my experience they just want to be voted for and will say anything to make that happen. When they are voted in they will do anything to stay there. Honesty doesn't enter into it.
patsylabrador
I'm with you there Beantree. I only vote now because of the Suffragettes and troops that have secured our freedom to vote. There is no trust, I was a don't know right up to the last minute and then I got migraine eyes and struggled to see the voting slips. It wasn't my best vote I think.
