Luvachicken
I did get the pekins some turf for their run the other day and it has been in there almost a week - and it still looks like grass The thing is I try and shake stalosan every where each week, but what will happen to the grass if I shake it on there, and what will happen if the girls eat it attached to the grass ? I don't want to make them ill. Was the grass a mistake ? Before, when they just had soil, everything got mixed in.
helen_molly
Thanks for asking this question as I was just wondering the same thing! I have just shaken some Biodry - which I'm pretty sure does the same thing on some grass in the run as it was getting quite poopy - the packet said it was not harmful and safe for animals so I hoped it would be ok. I am looking for something to put down on the floor of the run as I 'm sure the grass wont survive too much longer, but finding it really hard to find a supplier of wood chips and I have heard good and bad things about sharp sand. jackian
I use Biodry on my patio and path and leave for a while and then sweep off and they have never come to any harm but never on grass (I have none) Stalosan I use in the run on the ground but rake it in .I am sure that it is fine as they peck at the earth of course. The only problem with that is the colour . Jackie x
Luvachicken
I think then that I might sprinkle it on at night and then brush it off in the morning. Pink grass is what we'll have
