WarrensWorld
Well it has been a while since we posted on the forum. I thought once I retired there would be more time to fill. Well I was wrong. It's sad, but the Warrens/ISA browns have all passed on. We now have Sussex, Bluebells and Blackrocks, though Lakenvelders and Vorwerks are in the offing, Eileen says we need to get just a few more chickens! The thing is, what to do with all those extra eggs..... We know that being completely self sufficient isn't going to happen. However the new polytunnel, veg patch and our mini 8 tree orchard, (3 pears and 5 apples) plus the soft fruit. We're doing quite well, the weathers been kind to us this year, it is Ireland. I joined the local Mens Shed, we're rebuilding tractors, and farm machinery, the object is to send them to countries that really need them. Having problems in the shipping side of the equation at the moment, it'll be sorted I'm sure. Plus we own a 30 year old Cortina, and that takes a little bit of looking after, we do have a slightly more modern car too. The only fly in the ointment is the arthritis, it's a bit of nuisance, but hey, ho! I'll post the chicken updates on the 'Chicken' thread. soapdragon
Sounds like you have your hands full! My mum always moans that, since she retired, she NEVER gets time to read the Sunday papers And they don't even have chickens
