mullethunter
Does anyone know if you can put the run door of the Go Up on the side like you can with the normal Go? I'd like to upgrade (already after only 2 months!) but could only do it if I can get in from the side.
Cat tails
Don't think that is possible because the door element is a whole different shape than a side element. Some people made a door conversion for normal go's and classics, but it means you change the run yourself. And I think would be rather difficult with the Go since the side of the run consists of two elements and not one, as in the normal Go and Classic. WitchHazel
We had the same question, as we had bought several door panels for our ground level Go, and I wanted to be able to use them on a Go Up. I emailed Omlet and they told me it wouldn't be possible because of the angles. However, I bought the Up conversion, and found that it could be done, if a little inelegantly. We have put extra two door panels on our Up (using door panels from the original Go run), one on each side. This is a pic with the door open This is a pic with the door closed - you may be able to see that we ended up with an overlap of skirt. I'm sure there was a bit of skirt shuffling, but I don't think we ended up having to cut anything I couldn't find a sensible way to get a door at the back because of the way the run is fitted at the back. (PS the Go moved from a grassy part of the garden to a cleared area between the first pic and the other pics, I don't want anyone thinking my chook did that to the grass!) mullethunter
Thanks WitchHazel that's really useful to know. That might work for me - ideally I'd like Omlet to make full height side doors though (if anyone is listening!) - thanks for the photo's. And my girls definitely WOULD do that to my grass
Cat tails
Mine have definately DONE that to grass... The rest around the coop is still lovely and green. But they even managed to make themselves a sizeable dustbath, where there ones was grass.
