About to enter the world of chicken keeping- Walthamstow

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My recently purchased Eglu Classic will be set up this weekend in preparation for housing three hybrids next weekend.

We have only recently moved to Walthamstow and I would be keen to hear from anyone local so that I may call on them for any learner advice I may need and or seek their suggestions for how they arrange for car of their girls when away in holidays. I attended a Hens Party a few months ago so have the basics covered but keen to learn more through connections and this forum.

Very much looking forward to welcoming my chickens to their/our new home.

Best

welcome pickledhen

I am way over in Bromley so too far from you, but you will learn a whole heap from the lovely forum...it has helped me immensely...never heard of a hen party....I WANT ONE!!!!

Hen Parties are great, OH and I went to one organised by Snowy some years ago  You learn lots about chickens.

Welcome to the forum Pickled Hen, there is lots of great advice here. If you have any questions just ask and someone always knows the answer.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on getting chickens. I am not a million miles away from you, if you need help but you will find loads of answers on the forum. Do trawl through the FAQs and use the 'Search' facility to see if someone's asked it already (they often have!) but if not you will get lots of helpful advice on here.

I have cats which need feeding when I'm away, so whoever does the cats (a friend) usually checks the hens as well. I have used a professional cat-sitter once however, and she was very happy to feed the hens as well as the cats while I was away.

Bet you can't wait for the hens to arrive, where are you getting them from?
