The Dogmother
Has anyone heard of this company? I find that they are taking a standing order out of my account for my mobile phone (the phone number is used in their reference), I have NEVER authorised anyone to start an insurance for my mobile as it is covered under my house contents policy, in fact I have always clearly stipulated that they should NOT include one. Also, neither Vodafone who my contract is with, nor Carphone Warehouse who I got my last handset from have ever heard of this company, nor have they got any insurance policy running for me. A complete mystery, and I'm concerned as to how they can have got hold of my details to set up this policy. I have asked my bank to cancel the order, and they have started an indemnity claim to recover the premiums I have paid - in the meantime I am writing to Citymain to make sure that they cancel this policy and let me know how they managed to set it up. sjp
it looks like they provide insurance or administer insurance for an online mobile phone retailer
The Dogmother
I saw that too - very odd as I have never bought a phone online; I have only ever got it either from Vodafone (shop or by ringing them when my contract was up) or my last handset was from Carphone Warehouse in August of last year. Even odder is that the commencement date of the direct debit doesn't tie in with any phone contract renewal either I see online that they are known for those 'free for 3 months then cancel' types of phone insurances, but I am very careful never to enter into any of those either.
