Advice needed for worming young bantam

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a largish bantam that is still quite young <14 weeks. Only had her 3 weeks but she has started displaying gapeworm symptoms :-( I don't want to worm all my other young girls yet unless absolutely necessary as some are smaller and younger. Any ideas on how to worm just one youngster?

Thanks!

I agree - it could be caused by any number of things; gapeworm is one of these. I would get her to the vet for a check over first. Do feel her crop to check it's not sour - stretching and shaking the head can be a symptom of sour crop.

Flubenvet can be used to treat Gapeworm (double-dosed, so egg withdrawal is necessary) but vets usually recommend Panacur.
