pinkkat
When Posey has her head in the grub stufing her face, she scratches at the ground constantly, so all the hemcore ends up in a pile behind her. Then she scratches at the grub a couple of times, and shoves her foot in beside her head . It looks like she's trying to climb in . Of course, this knocks the grub off its perch - does anyone else think the hooks could be made more effective? - so none of the chooks can feed. Posey then trots over to the second grub and repeats the whole proceedure . Hubby is going to attempt to make a secure stand for the grubs. Any suggestions as to a good design for this? Tips from successful diy-ers out there would be much appreciated.

puffball
I don't have a eglu but with our trough it has holes drilled in which then hook onto the coop (there is a tilt so the hens can still reach it easily but when they stand on/in it they can't nock it over). If that helps?
Rabbieboy
Whne we first put Mavis in beside the Omlet girls they were always pecking at her neck, after 10 mins she realised if she jammed her head inside the Grub they could't get her. I had to pull her out when she was still there an hour later.
Hazel_L
Ours used to tip the grub over too I ended up wrapping a short bungee cord round it to hold it tightly to the run... and it's worked so far.
