mullethunter
Penny went broody yesterday afternoon. Full on pancake posture, hissing, pecking, swearing. The lot. I put her on the perch when I shut them in last night but I don't think she stayed there. This morning she was back on the nest 'swearing' again, so I put her in the broody cage. She's been in there all day with nothing remarkable happening, but just now when I went to shut them in there was an egg in her cage! I've had them lay on the first day just as they're going broody, but never on the second day. Does it mean anything?
Luvachicken
She is probably trying to trick you Mine have laid an egg in the broody cage just to make me feel guilty they are in there. I still keep them in there for the 3 days/nights and they seem ok with that.
