Solitary chicken - need advice

Hi there,

 

We have just set-up our low rise WIR. The basic 2x2m one. I was wondering what others have to modify their run, adding perches, dust baths or other entertainment and would be keen to see some inspiration. There is so much more room in there compared to the standard GO run we're moving them from, so I'm keen to have a bit of fun and more importantly make the space more fun and entertaining for the hens.

 

Any ideas, suggestions and inspiration appreciated!

Hi there If you look in the "Eglus, cubes & runs" section there are some photos

 

I have branches and a dust bath for mine in their run.

I snaffled some old Ikea shoe racks from a skip which made some great perches when I had an Omlet run. The ends of the racks fit perfectly through the holes in the run (I'm assuming it would work with an Omlet WIR too!)

That looks amazing. What a great idea. I've indulged in all the other posts in the suggested thread and now have plenty of ideas.

I have the 3 x 2 WIR. They have a perch diagonally across one corner a couple of feet off the ground, a big cat litter tray as a dust bath and best of all a dilapidated garden bench.

 

I'll post photos if it ever stops raining!
