Chickabee Posted July 6, 2015 Share Posted July 6, 2015 One of my ducklings disappeared. I had 2 in a large double dog cage in my stable. She was too big to get through the the bars. She was there Saturday night but had disappeared by Sunday morning. There was no indication of a struggle, the cage had not moved, and the door was not left open. In a panic I went to the pet shop to get Ruby a new companion. She was fretting a lot. I came home with 3 applyards. One is a drake. They are gorgeous. I have covered the cage with fine plastic coated metal mesh and scoured the whole stable for any small entrance holes. It's so strange there are 3 chickens in there. One sitting on eggs. They were left. The stable is directly opposite my bedroom, and I heard no commotion. We're all left scratching our heads Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Mollydog Posted July 18, 2015 Share Posted July 18, 2015 Wehad our ducklings in a dog crate that was one of the wire sorts. We thought thye couldnt get out of the bars, but they can squash themselves extremle thin if they choose to and mine were always escaping....we gave up and used a mesh dog crate in the end!
