Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I want to buy one for OH. Bought cheap one on eBay but it didn't start recording for about 20s after it was switched on. Need one that starts recording instantly (or after a few seconds) - sellers don't seem to mention this property.

 

Just a simple, small voice recorder (no playback required - simply transfer files to Mac/PC to listen)

 

Can anyone recommend a suitable one ?

If you want recording to start instantly, you are better of with a proper dictaphone. Something like this would work quite well.

I just use my phone app - does he have anything on his phone he could use?
