Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I'm after some omleteers advice! I'm on holiday at the moment and its super hot, which is great. However, when I sat on the pavement yesterday I didn't realise that the tarmac had gone all bubbly and so my shorts stuck to it I've now got black asphalt/tar stains all over them, and they were my best walking shorts!

 

I've read various methods for removing it online, such as vegetable oil or bio washing powder, but wondered if anyone had tried any methods before, and how successful were they? I worry that if I use loads of veg oil on the bum of my shorts they're going to stain from the oil and look equally as bad!

Is it worth sticking your shorts in the freezer to get the majority of tar off before trying any other treatment? That works for chewing gum

Sadly, if the staining is very bad/widespread you may be better investing in another pair of shorts or a small deckchair! Either that or take them to a professional dry cleaner and see what they say.
