Alis girls
I rang a well known garden centre today to enquire about hens as I am restocking at last. The very pleasant man - possibly East European as he sounds like my Hungarian friend asked me what I wanted. As I'm not that sure - asked what they had and the ages etc. He said "they are 22 weeks old and more Henny at that age - you know what I mean?" what a lovely description - large red combs and more confident than the smaller ones who dont look quite henny enough. Love it!!! Anyone got "magpies" they sound nice - are they noisey as in a London garden albeit near main roads? Cant wait.

Alis girls
Not sure I want a broody, because we are London based I dont want to breed as I cant have cockerels due to noise. I might leave that breed - thanks for pointing that out
Chickabee
I had one, never went broody. She was lovely. Really hankered for outdoors, loved free ranging, but never wanted to fly away
