Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with eBay and PayPal and has any genius solutions to get it resolved.....?

 

A number of weeks back I sold an item through the Global Shipping Programme (my first and last attempt to do this!), duly posted it off to the UK shipping centre, thankfully via a traceable service, it was received and was then sent off on a magical mystery tour around Europe by eBay never actually ending up with the buyer.

 

Buyer opened a case with eBay and PayPal put the funds on hold. After two weeks of 'investigation' eBay found in my favour and closed the case saying that PayPal would now release the funds back to me - 15 days later and this still hasn't happened. I've queried this with PayPal and been told they can't help as the case with eBay is still showing as open and that I need to contact them directly. You can probably guess what is coming next...... eBay say they can't help and that I need to contact PayPal!

 

Two more cycles of e-mails to both parties and I'm still being sent around in circles

Try ringing eBay, they were very helpful on the one occasion that I had to do this.

Ebay also have live chat - I found that very helpful - typing is easier (and cheaper than a phone call) and then you get the transcription afterwards for future reference in case you can't remember all the instructions.

Thanks both, 3 eBay chats later and after much initial fobbing off, I've finally got my money back.

 

I can't help feeling sorry for my buyer though - eBay sent the item somewhere completely random and have blamed her for not providing an accurate address. eBay didn't even send it to the right city though!
