Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

Hello, we live within a 1.8 Km area which is the danger area in Preesall. We have had a door to door visit from DEFRA / Trading Standards .... who asked questions about the chickens. Did not want to see the hens but had to fill in a form what breeds etc ... email, home phone and mobile. We asked about what disinfection they were using and they should us a packet of Vercon X but did not want to see the hens . Told them they were in a 11ft by 9 ft covered walk in run with aubioes on the floor . Did not want to see them . We have a washing up bowl with Vercon X in to wash wellies in. We do not know what to do with the used aubioes we think we will bag it up until after the outbreak has gone then sent it to recycling centre if our hens do not catch it. Any ideas anyone?

Good I am glad they are doing something. Bit too little too late but better than nothing

Aubiose breaks down nicely in a compost heap and with all the chicken droppings will make a nutrient rich soil for your garden.

Be glad they didn't want to see them! If they trundled around every garden and then went on to visit you, that would be a definite way to make sure everyone got it!
