kirstenelisa
I have a cockerel who injured his leg ,cut and swollen around 3 months ago. After a visit to vet we isolated him and with bathing and antibiotics he recovered. I then introduced him back to 2 hens , but there was still a scab and they attacked him. Since then he is still on his own but there is no scab and the leg looks healed. Shall I just put him in coop overnight and let them out in morning as usual? He has been visible to all the hens while he has been separated . Any advice please .
Lewis
I would just pop him back in now he's healed - technically he should go straight to the top of the pecking order but they don't always read the textbook
Patricia W
The top hen may object a bit. I’d scatter some corn or a treat when you first introduce them. He’ll call to them to tell them it’s there. And stand back to let them have it. Might help.
