mas1man
Ok so 1 of my quails got attacked by a cat today. It' died bless it but I have 1 more female quail left. The question I need answering is if I put another female in the pen will they get on? I' new to keeping quail so any advice would be helpful
Luvachicken
Sorry to read about your little quail. I'm afraid I don't know the answer but basing it on chickens, one on one is good. Lewis knows a lot about quail so maybe he'll be able to tell you.
Lewis
Sorry to hear it, they do tend to get their heads where predators can get them How many do you have and are they Japanese (Coturnix) or Chinese Painted? Generally quail tend to be pretty aggressive and hard to do introductions so I would never add one female, a group would be better and slowly introduce them. I don't know what you keep them in but an indoor guinea pig/hamster or bird cage is good to put newbies in inside the existing run.
mas1man
Hi there Japanese. I had 2 but now I have 1 and I keep her in a classic with a 2 metre run. She loves it but Iv put a cage around it so the cat can't get to the run.
Lewis
If she's alone it may be easier to introduce a few new females but they are harder to intro than chickens
