We havent had a bathroom in our house for 5 months due to use totally ripping appart the house, and re doing everything.we moved in 9 months ago. DH has been 'trying' to sort it out, lots of plumbers quoted £8,000- £10,000, we found one that said they could do it as a fraction of the price as it was a friend of a friend! £1,000 It was meant to be done tomorrow, and finished by next week! The guy has said that he can do it, but also wants to 'get a mate' to help him for £650 a day! ermmmmm NO! He isnt even qualified or training. why does he need a friend.??? However! The other plumbers i called today are Busy until November! BAH you dont have to reply. Just needed to RANT! argh!!!!! I was looking forward to a soak in the tub, as we have been roughing it with Solar showers in the garden, [at least it gives the neighbours something to talk about ! hahahaha Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I do sympathise, the worst thing is having no kitchen, but the next worst is having no bathroom - and you've got a baby, I don't know how you cope! Why is it so difficult to get people to do work - they offer to quote, then don't turn up, or they come and look at it, but don't quote, or as you've found, they try and move the goalposts. In my experience though, the ones who are busy are your best bet - you may have to wait, but they are busy because (usually) they're good. Hope you feel better for getting it off your chest!
