AmandaR
I know that there aren't many chicken keepers around my area but I thought that someone may be interested in taking some wood chips off my hands to make or refresh their chicken run. I ordered 1/2 a cubic metre from a local tree surgeon who turned up today with a lorry load. It took a while before I realised that he wasn't going to stop tipping them until I shouted STOP! at the top of my voice Now I'm not one to turn away a free lunch so to speak but it is waaayyyy too much for us. I have spent the whole afternoon and evening shovelling them out of our front garden into the back (through the house as we are in a terrace with no side gate), have redone the chooks run and have 24 sacks full left over. They are all bagged up ready to go into someones car although a couple of bags have been contaminated with a bit of grass, from sweepng them up. If you are interested, you are welcome to as much as you like - just send me a PM.

Guest
I did just that one day - had a truck load from a tree surgeon on his way to the dump - i now have a 6 inch mulch on my front harden bed - no weeds seen for two years! my mum lent me her special backing hopper designed for filling bags with dry stuff you shovel in - so you don't have to have four hands to shovel and hold bag open Phil
