Gooner Boy
Oh dear you're right... Still, there are so many calamitous Seaman moments to choose from. Carew. Scoring for Valencia and knocking "Ooops, word censored!"nal out of the CL. Plays for Aston Villa. Is going to have a miserable time on Saturday, given that he's too slow and Agbonlahor's too fast, meaning that every clearance the Villa defenders manage to hoof up the pitch is going to land somewhere in the middle of them and subsequently get calmly dealt with by Gallas, who will go on to score a hattrick. Carew will be taken off for an extra defender just before half time, after touching the ball once at kickoff. Newspapers will report that he was crying, but he'll claim that he simply had something in his eye. And then O'Neill will be so upset by the performance that he'll take the England job afterall and lead us to a 0-0 draw with Belarus.

Martin B
Carew is not slow. I don't know where you get that interpretation from. Let's put it this way, the last time I saw "Ooops, word censored!"nal beat Villa at Villa Park: Henry, Ljungberg and Cole scored. I'll welcome them back on Saturday! Gooner Boy
Without Fabregas, Hleb, Van Persie, Gilberto, Flamini... Still reckon it'll be a draw next week. How does this prediction league work anyway?
Martin B
Midweek (normally friday afternoon ) Phil (revnev) posts the relevant fixtures, the fixtures are based on the teams that us predicters support. The teams range from the glamour of Villa to the slums of the black country gold and blacks. You just make your predictions on this thread and Phil takes them all in. You got 3 points (i think 3) for a correct score eg. if you predict villa to win 9-0 and they do then you get 3 points. 1 point is awarded for a correct result eg. you put Villa to win 11-0 but they don't score 11 but win anyway you get a point for predicting a villa victory. I hope that is clear. Martin
Gooner Boy
I like the way that you set impossible hypothetical examples, such as predicting a Villa win next Saturday, to make it really clear for me
gooner.girl
Ahhh, well theres a question! If you look back through the thread you'll see that we predict certain games (the teams we support - thats "Ooops, word censored!"nal, Chelsea, Bolton, Villa Birmingham, Everton, Wolves and Worcester City) You get 3 points for the correct score and 1 point for correct result. Phil is the reigning 'prediction princess' from last season. You'd be a way behind the rest of us if you join now but you are more then welcome to join and play a week by week comparison (Phil publishes results every other week roughly) and show Martin that yet another gooner knows more about football then he does... Martin B
I'm sure he'll overtake Clash in no time. Phil should post an updated league table tomorrow, but don't be surprised if you don't see it until Thursday night.

Gooner Boy
Yeah, but watching Fabregas take out Lampard was still one of the best moments of last season, regardless of what followed. He's a tough man, our Frank...
