Footie thread is here now...

Helen, you really need to watch Villa play.

We are on fire, perfect balance, the sleeping giant is awake, about time you all started considering Villa one of the 'Big Four'!

I watched Villa play last december, went with a nice young man called Martin - they lost to this fantastic football team that played in a red and white strip...

(actually if you ask Mike he will say they were the best opposition he has seen "Ooops, word censored!"nal play against live but he doesn't know much about football either - just like you...)

:D

Just like your brother by the sounds of it. I get the impression that you beat them both into it!

I haven't managed to get tickets for the Emirates this time around, they sold out in hours, I think we will get a point.

I am still getting my football fix though, I'm swapping top of the table clash for a relegation six pointer at Pride Park against Sunderland! :D

Mike had to promise in his wedding vows its true!:wink: But Tom came to the decision all by himself - he's an intelligent lad :D

Course they sold out super fast Martin - everyone wants to see The "Ooops, word censored!"nal Thats obvious!

We have had a terrible week - we're due to thrash someone soon.... Hope its Villa!

Sunderland - Derby... Thrilling stuff... :?

You didn't tell me who the girlfriend supports - she's a gooner isn't she?!:lol:

I wouldn't say she is a football fan to be honest. She says she supports United but she can only name one player, no prizes for guessing who!

I went to 5 derby games last season and the only one they lost was against Sunderland! I hope I don't bring them any bad luck, if Derby win I think they'll be giving me a complimentary season ticket! Their new American Owners have said they will have £30 million to spend in the summer and they will be a top 10 prem team in 3 years!

You might have had a terrible week, and I think some of your young players are starting to look down the league and I think we will get a point, I would LOVE IT (ala Keegan) if we beat 'em on Saturday!

I recon we will have silver wear in 3 years. Easy!

Just watching the Newcastle highlights and they need to be careful. The other week when I saw them they were honestly the worst team I had ever seen! AWFUL! They are getting torn apart week in week out. Anybody fancy them to go down? I can't see them turning it around too easily.

I can't be a real Gooner, I was pleased Spurs won

Care to explain your reasoning before your big sister beats you up?!

:lol::lol::lol:

Er, yeah. I'm glad Spurs won for several reasons:

1: I haven't been an "Ooops, word censored!"nal fan for long enough to have developed a deep-rooted hatred of the Spurs

2: We can now say that we were thrashed by the eventual winners.

3: I can't stand the way in which Chelsea have bought success.

4: I can't see "Ooops, word censored!"nal winning more than one trophy at the most this season, and I wouldn't want you to lose your bet that "Ooops, word censored!"nal will win more trophies than Chelsea, Villa and Bolton put together.

On another note, I'm really pleased to see that Eduardo is expected to make a full recovery. 9 months is the time being suggested at the moment, but the outlook seems positive anyway. :)
