ajm200
One of my little pekins has gone broody only 3 weeks after laying her first egg. At first we removed her from the nest box and closed the cube door after the others had laid and she’d go off with and roam with the others. Last couple of days she’s been aggressive to anyone (chicken or human) who gets too close. Chucked her out the nest box am and she decided to settle down on a large pebble in the flowerbed and was acting loud, grumpy and hormonal. She is temporarily in the guinea pig run after a cool bucket bath. Can I let her back into the cube at night with the nest box blocked or do I need to put her in a crate in the outer part of the run? She's feisty atm but is usually low on the pecking order so din’t want problems reintegrating her into the flock when her raging hormones subside Thanks
The Dogmother
She needs a smaller crate up on bricks, inside their covered run. Leave her in there 24/7 for 3 days. Video here
ajm200
This is a temporary cage to stop her returning to the nest box or attacking the others while I source a dog crate
ajm200
She’s now in the run in an upturned indoor rabbit run so she is stood on the wires with the plastic base as a roof. Dog crate arriving in the morning
