mullethunter
Whilst we went to visit my sister and her new baby, my mums chickens came to stay at my house so OH could easily look after them. I set up my Eglu Go and run for them inside my girls free ranging area - the visitors remained in the run for the duration of their stay (much to their disgust). My question is if I clear out the poo from the run and rake over with ground sanitising powder, how long do you think I should leave it before removing he run and letting my girls have that bit of their patch back? The Dogmother
You don't really need to leave long if you are using GSP - I would give it a couple of goes, three days apart and leave it at that. You could always send off a soil sample for analysis if you are concerned.
mullethunter
Thanks DM. No I’m not concerned about anything nasty I just don’t want to do nothing. Thankyou.
The Dogmother
You are right in your thinking, and also a couple or three applications of GSP, with suitable gaps in between with kill off the nasty bacteria and intestinal worm eggs too. Very sensible idea.
